- The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety provides in depth training and awareness of health & safety within the construction industry.
- The course covers the management of health & safety, risks and hazards as well as practical application of construction safety.
- The course is aimed at managers, supervisors, directors, temporary work co-ordinators, those that manage contract activities, health & safety consultants and safety advisors. It is also aimed at any role holders under CDM Regulations 2015.
- The course consists of 3 main units, NGC1, NCC1 and NCC2. Candidates must pass all the units for successful completion.

Course Programme
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety is the established standard as the leading health and safety award within the construction industry.
Who should take the course?
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety is for Supervisors, Managers and those who have a role under CDM Regulations 2015 within the construction sector.
Individual Course Units
The NEBOSH Construction Certificate course into three different units:
• Unit NGC1 – Management of Health and Safety (the first week of the NEBOSH General Certification Occupational Health and Safety).
• Unit NCC2 – Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities
• Unit NCC3 – Construction Health and Safety Practical Application.

• Organising for health and safety
• Promoting a positive health and safety culture
• Risk assessment
• Principles of control
• Monitoring review and audit
• Incident and accident investigation, recording and reporting
Unit NCC2 – Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities
• Construction law and management
• Construction site: hazards and control
• Movement of people and vehicles: hazards and control
• Manual and mechanical handling: hazards and control
• Work equipment: hazards and control
• Electrical: hazards and control
• Fire: hazards and control
• Chemical and biological health: hazards and control
• Physical and psychological health: hazards and control
• Working at height: hazards and control
• Excavation work and confined spaces: hazards and control
• Demolition: hazards and control
Unit NCC3 – Construction Health and Safety Practical Application
The delegate will also carry out a safety inspection of a construction site.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific barriers, in terms of academic qualifications, skills or experience to entry to the NEBOSH National Construction Certificate programme. However, it should be noted that currently the assessments are offered, and must be answered, in English only. The qualification includes a requirement to write a short report based on the candidate’s own workplace, which must also be in English.
Examination
There are 2 sets of exams that will be undertaken, one for NGC1 and one for NGC2. This can be taken on the same date.
The Qualification
Students will receive on successful completion the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety Qualification.
Those that hold the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety qualification are entitled to or meets the requirements for:
• Associate Membership (AIOSH) of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)
• Academic requirements met for Technical Membership (Tech IOSH) of IOSH and Associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) (5 years practise experience required)
• The headline entrance criteria requirements for Construction Safety Associate membership (AaPS) of the Association for Project Safety (APS).
• The headline entrance criteria requirements for Registered Membership (RMaPS) of the Association for Project Safety (APS)
Tutors
The trainer assigned for your course delivery is accredited by the NEBOSH as an approved trainer for this course programme.
We work with only those trainers who have significantly delivered to a high standard over a number of years and receive exceptionally positive feedback.
In House Training
This class is also available on what is known as in house training. We are able to arrange a trainer to come to your company premises to deliver the class on dates of your choosing. Please contact us for further details if this is a suitable option.
Please note minimum class size for all NEBOSH courses is 6 students.
